Kidnapped and Held Captive For Years By Pirates with Michael Scott Moore

Michael Scott Moore is a novelist and journalist, who was kidnapped by Somali pirates and spent two and half years in captivity. He is the author of a history of surfing, Sweetness and Blood (2010), and a memoir about his captivity in Somalia, The Desert and the Sea. He’s won Fulbright, Logan, and Pulitzer Center grants for his nonfiction, and a MacDowell Colony fellowship for his fiction.
